Do you provide prints?
I do not presonally, however I do a lot of work with a few printers, and have recommendations for others as well.
How many pictures will you take?
A lot. It's impossible to give a definite answer to this, other than I that I average about 100 images/hour for weddings, and less for portraits. It all depends on group sizes, weather, and several other factors.
Will I get digital files on a CD?
Everyone gets a CD/DVD with high resolution files included in their price. For weddings, anything above the basic package also receives low resolution files of the unedited photos.
Will you meet with us before the wedding?
Absolutely! I will meet with you as often as you want. I want to know as much as I can about your wedding day so that I can be prepared.
How far will you travel?
Typically I work within the Chicagoland area, or Southern Wisconsin, but I will travel further, although keep in mind that it will be factored into your price.
Do you charge extra for editing?
I do not charge extra for editing, it is built into the pricing. If you choose that you do not want me to edit your pictures, we can discuss a discount.
Who owns my photos?
Once I give you your final photos, they are yours. You can get prints (I will provide a release), post them on social media, etc. My only requests are that you give me credit when posting, and that I may use some of your photos for my portfolio, and possibly for advertising. If I do use your photo for something, I will let you know first, should you have any objections.
Do you provide an online page?
For the Gold and Platinum packages, a page on my website is provided for guests to view and order prints from my chosen printer. This can be added to other packages, or your own custom package for a fee.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Typically I prefer 6 months in advance, but sometimes it gets down to the wire, and you realize, "We never got a photographer!" or "Our photographer just bailed on us, help!" It happens, I understand. But usually when the date is closer, your deposit may be a little higher. Speaking of which...
Do you require a deposit? How much? When?
I do require a deposit, which becomes non-refunable 3 months before the event. When booked early, deposits are 20-30%, at 6 months, 50% total is due. If you book less than 6 months before your wedding, there is a minimum $500 "late notice" fee.
Can I customize a package for what I need?
Of course! The packages I've listed are meant as guides. Sometimes they are exactly what someone needs, and other times clients want a little extra. I will create a plan that just right for you.
What is your cancellation policy?
Before the 3 month mark, you get your money back! If for any reason you need to cancel any time after 3 months before the wedding date, I will keep the deposit. Cancellation must be made in writing, signed by you, and sent via Certified Mail by the USPS. If there's no written cancellation as specified before the wedding date, you will still be required to pay the full balance due. So it's probably best not to do that...
What if I'm truely unhappy with my final photos, do I get my money back?
While there are limitations, I will do my best to make you happy, even if not with my photos. Your initial deposit is non-refundable, but I will work with you to make it right.
